TIME TO IMPLEMENT EARLY VOTING

MAKE IT COUNT!

BE AN ADVOCATE FOR EARLY VOTING!

A voting system that is free, fair, and accessible to all eligible voters is the foundation of our democracy. Connecticut needs to follow the lead of the 46 other states that allow early voting. Our state needs an election system that prioritizes the needs of seniors, working families, commuters, caregivers, and those with disabilities.

Equal access begins by ensuring all voters have a fair opportunity to cast their ballot during an early voting period. That means more days and hours, not less. Our early voting period should also accommodate frontline workers by ensuring polling locations stay open during evening and weekend hours.

MULTIPLE

POLLING LOCATIONS

Treating voters equally requires treating Connecticut's towns and cities differently. State lawmakers must mandate a minimum of three early voting polling locations in Connecticut's largest cities. Ordering a single polling location for the 651 registered voters in Union, CT, makes sense. However, mandating only one polling location for 81K+ registered voters in Bridgeport fails to guarantee equal access.

Treating voters fairly and equally requires an investment in our local election administration system. Investments in our local election system should prioritize our towns and cities with the largest concentration of registered voters. Not a one size fits all approach.

Voting access matters; it is the foundation of our democracy. Getting early voting done right requires prioritizing accessibility and funding.
